The ladies Schwinn Breeze would have been available with the 3 speed that would have had the same essential look of a Collegiate....same tire size etc.

The forged steel stem is also a type that was last used in mid-'74. The shifters are a type that was used starting in mid-'73.

WEB12-29-19 08:09 AM. $25. It was the Walmart bike of that era. Typically I donate them. Perhaps you can get someone with a nostalgia kick to pay more. Ross mainly made discount store bikes, with a handful of exceptions. Their mountain bikes were better, and they had a signature line of road bikes.

1977 Schwinn Caliente - hot or not? - Bike Forums
WEBI don't think the Caliente was made in 1977. You probably have a 1987 or 1988. Its a low-end Schwinn with steel wheels. Not worth much of an investment, especially a repaint. I recently sold one in mint condition for $95. If you want something to work on without the risk of messing up a nice bike, go for it.
