Fractured / broken rib, how long before I cycle again?

As the title says I have a busted rib, I did it 2 weeks ago after coming off my bike hitting the towpath and then ending up fully submerged with my bike in the canal. I'm still in frequent pain and taking pain killers, and still off work until next Friday at least.

WEBSep 4, 2021 · Ideally the chainring should lie in a plane halfway between the two, but it would hit the folded rear triangle before that. I would have said 1mph difference from a road touring bike, a bit more for a road racing bike (the term "road bike" is moronic...is a Brompton not a road bike?!), M-type slower than S-type due to the upright position.

WEB17 May 2015. #2. Looks like you're not eating or drinking enough while or before you ride and by the time you get home you're spent. For 50 miles, depending on a whole bunch of factors (mass, speed, aerodynamics), you may be burning through 1000 to 2000 calories. Possibly a days worth of food.

WEB8 Aug 2015. #1. Hi, I used to be in a cycling club over 30 years ago and bought bikes with a 23 inch frame and horizontal crossbar which suited my 5ft 8" height perfectly. I'm still 5ft 8" and want to buy a hybrid bike but I don't understand how they're sized nowadays, especially as their crossbars are angled downwards to the rear.

I've not rode either TT or Aero bikes so don't know if there's big difference, but looks like there may be. An aerodynamic road bike only gives a minimal speed …

WEBMay 21, 2011 · After say a 10 mile ride I'll return home full of beans, it really sets me up for the rest of the day. Today I returned from a 30 mile circuit (which is long me at the moment) on the new road bike, I was cycling for approx 1hr 45mins and rather than feeling up beat on my return I quite quickly felt tired with an urge to go and have a lie down.

I'd ride it as long as the wobble isn't bad enough that anything's going to foul the wheel or tyre but it's almost certainly knackering the bearings and possibly the cups and cones with a wildly uneven and varying load. I wonder if it could snap a thin axle if it got bad enough.
