So, not that I'm connected to anything current and topical in the bicycle business circles, but somehow, somewhere, and someone brought this bicycle to my attention. I think anything that gets people out riding bicycles is a positive for the circle of exercising bicycling.

WEBJudging by the posts about it on this site, this model's a notch above new walmart bikes (huffy, magna, schwinn, etc). Seller says its a 90s bike, though it looks identical to the one in the lower left corner of the 1984 catalog on sheldonbrown except for the flat handlebars.

WEBVintage Schwinn. 01-21-20 01:18 AM. Acon, In 1968, Schwinn did not offer a 3 speed Schwinn Collegiate. The Collegiate was a 5 speed from 1964 until the very late seventies. The ladies Schwinn Breeze would have been available with the 3 speed that would have had the same essential look of a Collegiate....same tire size etc.
A Infinity Kodiak 12 speed all terrain bike - Bike Forums
WEBSep 20, 2024 — Likes: 6,156. Liked 3,625 Times in 2,052 Posts. A Bike Forums thread from 2005 discusses an Infinity brand bike that was sold by Costco. Seems to have been a low-end bike, comparable to the loss-leader bikes sold by Walmart. It's possible yours is not one of those, though.

WEB12-29-19 08:09 AM. $25. It was the Walmart bike of that era. Typically I donate them. Perhaps you can get someone with a nostalgia kick to pay more. Ross mainly made discount store bikes, with a handful of exceptions. Their mountain bikes were better, and they had a signature line of road bikes.

WEBMetacortex. 08-13-19 07:05 PM. I believe that is a 1974 Suburban and that the OP has mis-read the serial. There are several clues: The color is Opaque Blue, which was last used in '74. The forged steel stem is also a type that was last used in mid-'74. The shifters are a type that was used starting in mid-'73.

WEBThe Vista Elite (c. 1983, serial #ARYG007693) has Araya 631 tubing. It also has 700C rims with the "euro" style valve stem (I don't recall the real name). It has the Shimano 600 series gear and brake systems (side pull, not center like the Vista Aero). It weighs approximately 24 lbs (w/bottle and pump).
