Their main collection is of NZ , Maori, and European art covering 19 and 20 th century. Changing exhibitions feature a variety of work, often contemporary. Currently a major exhibition featuring the Nude with works from pre-Raphalite through to Picasso. Well worth a visit it is a beautiful gallery. Also Te Uru gallery in Titirangi ( about 25 mins from cbd) is currently showing a world class photographic exhibit of photo journalism featuring Asia. Hope this helps.
