I just thought I should advise people that this play was not at The National Theatre, it was performed at The Young Vic. The National Theatre produces the live stream videos of lots of shows, but they are not always on stage at The National. It is rather confusing, but do please note that each live stream video shown in your cinemas is from many different theatres. I think it is difficult if you then want to see a play/opera live, as it is not made clear always where the live performances are, particular for visitors to London, who are not familiar with the amazing choice of theatre all round London.

I was referring to the production of Streetcar Named Desire, with Gillian Anderson playing Blanche Dubois. Someone sent a note to Trip Advisor extolling the virtues of this National Theatre production, having seen the live stream video link. I just wanted people to know that the actual live performances took place at The Young Vic.

Well, I do not think I have ever heard the expression "check out time" used in regards to any theatre! check out is used for hotels !! I think what may be indicated here is that some theatres indicate "curtain down" time, giving the run of the play opera etc so people know if they have to rush off to catch last trains home, car is on meter etc. The National Theatre has plays running on up to 4 platforms - The Olivier, being the main one, then the Littleton etc. So quite possibly what he means is that the plays come down at different times. Then he goes and "checks out" his coat from the cloakroom....??? Hope this helps. Happy Seasonal greetings!
