Simply, these composite rankings are the average of every Big Ten team’s FPI and SP+ slot after Week 9. For example, Iowa is currently No. 26 in FPI and No. 18 in SP+. That means the Hawkeyes’ composite ranking is No. 22. Those composite rankings are then ordered from highest to lowest.

Oregon and Indiana are the Big Ten's last remaining undefeated teams. Ohio State picked up a huge win and Penn State is still in the Playoff hunt.

Week 9 saw several major matchups in the Big Ten Conference. Everything started on Friday when the USC Trojans defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 42-22. The Indiana Hoosiers remained undefeated after beating the Washington Huskies 31-17.

The 2024 college football season is going quickly in the new, improved, and expanded Big Ten, and each time out provides additional data points and eyeball tests to try and figure out the pecking order in the conference might be.
