Boeing Defense, Space, and Security CEO Ted Colbert is out at Boeing. He’s paying for some sins of the past, but the change shows new CEO Kelly Ortberg means business.

Boeing is shaking up the leadership of its space and defense unit, which has been reeling from mounting losses and high-profile technical problems with its Starliner spacecraft.

Kelly Ortberg, Boeing ’s new CEO, announced the move in a statement to employees just before the close of business on Sept. 20. In the announcement, Ortberg said the change comes as the company is looking to improve its relationship with the U.S. government.
