Rejecting an insanity defense, a Colorado jury on Monday convicted a man diagnosed with the severe mental disorder schizophrenia of first-degree murder in a 2021 mass shooting at a grocery store in the city of Boulder that killed 10 people including a police officer.

Jurors on Monday found the gunman who shot and killed 10 people at a Colorado grocery store in 2021 guilty of 10 counts of first-degree murder. Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, now 25, was also found guilty on several additional charges in the mass shooting,

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, who killed 10 people in the mass shooting in 2021, had argued that he was not guilty by reason of insanity.
