Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo bounded to a podium over the guitar licks of the 1970’s hit “New York Groove” on Sunday, telling a room packed with hundreds of union laborers, seniors and other supporters that he was entering the New York City mayor’s race to rescue a city facing chaos.

Influential former Brooklyn Democratic Party boss Frank Seddio is abandoning Mayor Eric Adams and backing ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, he told The Post Thursday. Seddio — who is the law partner of Adams’ political adviser and former City Hall chief-of-staff Frank Carone — said he doesn’t see a path for embattled mayor to win re-election.

Andrew Cuomo, who resigned in disgrace three years ago, announced his return to politics Saturday with a bid to be New York City’s next mayor, joining a crowded primary field that includes embattled incumbent Eric Adams.
