A 62-year-old woman has died from injuries following a vicious dog attack in her own backyard, St. Louis police reported.

Gladys Anthony died after the attack at her Missouri home. A 73-year-old man who intervened with a pistol and broom also was injured in the attack.

Gladys Anthony, a deaf woman from St. Louis, Missouri died after being attacked by her neighbor's dogs while trying to protect her own pet.

A Missouri family is mourning the loss of a grandmother who was killed in her backyard by a neighbor’s three dogs earlier this month. Gladys Anthony, 62, was attacked outside her St. Louis, Mo., home on Jan. 15, St. Louis Metropolitan Police said in a statement last week.

If the dogs are declared dangerous, the owner has 35 days to comply with a set of regulations allowing the animals to be returned, or surrender them immediately.
