Three athletes from the Skating Club of Boston will pay tribute Sunday to the 67 victims who died in a midair collision over Washington D.C. in January.

As the figure skating community grappled with the deaths of more than 15 skaters, coaches and parents, the grief was felt across the world.

Twenty-eight members of the figure skating community were among the 67 people killed in the Jan. 29 collision and crash.

The U.S. figure skating community — which lost 28 people in the crash between an American Airlines plane and an Army helicopter outside Reagan National Airport last month — decided to honor the deceased by putting on a show.

The special tribute show, titled "Legacy on Ice," will feature performances by more than 40 athletes over two hours at Capital One Arena.

Nathan Chen, Nancy Kerrigan and Peggy Fleming are among a bevy of figure skaters added to the cast of a benefit event this weekend in Washington, D.C.
