Multiple parts of central Texas, including Kerr County, were shocked by flash floods Friday when the Guadalupe River rose rapidly.

Parts of the state devastated by flash floods that left at least 82 dead over the holiday weekend were braced for more heavy rains as forecasters extended flood warnings through Monday evening.A summer camp on the banks of the Guadalupe River in the state’s Hill Country said Monday it was grieving the loss of 27 girls and counselors.

A July Fourth weekend deluge in Texas caused catastrophic flash flooding that has killed more than 80 people. Camp Mystic in Kerr County says Monday morning that it is “grieving the loss” of 27 campers and counselors as the search continues for victims of the disaster.
