Colt Ford is healthier than ever after a heart attack last year in which his heart had to be revived twice. The singer suffered a heart attack that left him in a coma for eight days.

Country rap star Colt Ford, 55, lost 60 Lbs. after a near-fatal heart attack made him ditch Mountain Dew and fried chicken. "I was a terrible eater," the "Dirt Road Anthem" songwriter tells PEOPLE. Ford calls the heart attack he suffered in April "a blessing" because it put him on a healthier path.

Ford told PEOPLE he was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 2022, and was already in the process of losing weight, getting down to 250, at the time of the heart attack. Ford said his doctor told him, “I have no idea how you survived,” after the heart attack. The singer said he is now down to 190 pounds thanks in part to his new diet.
