The Patriots, now 3-7 after a win over the Bears, have a long way to go as a team, but Jerod Mayo and his staff deserve some appreciation.

Mayo expects even more growth when he enters his second NFL season. Per the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, the Patriots’ coach said he expects to make his “biggest jump” from Year 1 to Year 2. Mayo says he expects to make his “biggest jump” as a head coach from Year 1 to Year 2.

“We knew going into the season we would take our lumps, and even after the first game when we beat Cincinnati, we understood that this is unsustainable as far as winning that way,” Mayo said after the Patriots lost 30-13 to the 49ers in Week 4.
