Pedestrian hit by car, killed near Ozark
A pedestrian was killed along a busy highway near Ozark Thursday night. Dale County Coroner John Cawley confirmed the man was hit around 8:30 p.m. along Highway 27. The coroner says police were called to the scene and found the body after a short search.
Pedestrian killed in Ozark
Willie E. Jones, 73, who was in the roadway at the time of the crash, was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by Timmy D. Smith, 50, of Ozark. Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene, ALEA State Trooper Lt. Jeremy Burkett said Friday morning.
