Manmohan Singh, former prime minister widely regarded as the architect of India's economic reform programme, was cremated with full state honours Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi on Saturday afternoon.

Several key leaders including President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, among others, attended the funeral of former Prime Minister DR Manmohan Singh at the Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi.

The issue over the funeral taking place at the crematorium in New Delhi raised discontent among Congress leaders as they asked for Centre to lay Singh to rest at a place where a memorial could be built.
