After Wednesday's 130-113 loss at the Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell reacted to his first game with the team.

Earlier this week, the Nets acquired point guard D'Angelo Russell in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers, bringing the former No. 2 overall pick back to Brooklyn. Russell, 28, was with the Nets back from 2017-19 and he was an All-Star in his second season with the team.

Prior to Thursday's 113-110 win at the Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks addressed the trade with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Unfortunately for the Nets, even the presence of Russell was not enough to prevent the team from enduring a 130-113 loss to the Raptors. Russell had 22 points and eight assists in his debut (second stint) with the franchise while Cam Johnson had 24 points and three assists.

Cam Johnson led the Nets with 24. Russell was stellar with no real practice time, while starting point guard Ben Simmons was a team-worst minus-18. Scottie Barnes had 33 points, and Toronto dominated inside late, aided by an injury to Nets starting power forward Noah Clowney.

D'Angelo Russell is set to make his return to the Nets' lineup following Sunday's surprise trade from the Lakers.
