Several local school districts will be delayed or closed on Wednesday as more snow and bitter cold wind chills continue sweeping through the region.

The remnants of last week’s winter storm are still causing icy conditions in the North Georgia mountains, prompting several of those school districts to close or go virtual. Habersham County Schools will be closed on Wednesday. Pickens County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay.

Due to icy road conditions, several schools are announcing closings, delays or remote learning for Monday, Jan. 13.

Several school districts north of Syracuse had delays and closings earlier today, but at least one that remained open has now decided to dismiss students early. Our information comes directly from school officials, school websites and news reports. We’ll continue to update the list as it changes.
