That job description was so pointed, so specific that it left observers with the sense that former coach Matt Eberflus couldn’t lead men and, further, would have a difficult time leading animals, vegetables or minerals.

Mike Vrabel got a lot of interest from teams around the NFL before eventually agreeing with a deal to be the head coach of the Patriots.

With Vrabel off the board, there are five NFL head coach vacancies, with the Bears, Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, and New Orleans Saints still searching. All attention for Chicago should turn to Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who has been the hottest and most discussed name for the job outside of Vrabel.
