President Donald Trump told private donors during last year's presidential race that he threatened to bomb the capitals of Russia and China in separate conversations with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.

The Republican leader referred to his conversation with Putin and Xi while arguing he would have staved off the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza if he were president instead of Joe Biden. He had been repeating his claim as he now struggles to end both the wars.
