Adipose tissue, or fat, is an anatomical term for loose connective tissue composed of adipocytes. Its main role is to store energy in the form of fat, although it also cushions and insulates the body.

This layer also contains collagen-rich connective tissue and a network of blood vessels and nerves. Like the skin as a whole, the subcutaneous layer varies in thickness throughout the body.

Adipose tissue can therefore improve triglycerides. If we eat and store food with unfavorable fatty acids, they do not have to be released in that state again when we are hungry.
