The recent wildfires have left Los Angeles -- the second-largest city in the United States and home to the country's rich and famous -- in rubble.

Aerial footage taken from a helicopter flight over fire-damaged areas on Wednesday (January 22) showed the extent of damage and devastation in the city of Altadena, California, which bore the brunt of the Eaton Fire.

Charred and scorched earth can be seen in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Altadena after the Eaton wildfire was mostly contained after burning for weeks.
