Twitter says accounts must be “notable and active” to receive the badge. Verified badges are little blue ticks that appear next to a person’s user handle on Twitter.

Twitter said Wednesday it was offering an annual plan for its subscription service called Twitter Blue, which includes its sought-after "verified" badge, at a discount to its monthly price.
