Britt Allcroft, the creator of the “Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends” series, died at 81, filmmaker Brannon Carty announced on X.
Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends ran for 24 series until January 2021 with a total of 584 episodes. Allcroft stepped down as executive producer in the early 2000s.
Thomas isn’t the one tank engine people can meet. “We have Percy for photo-ops, we have Sir Topham Hat for photo-ops, and the miniature trains as well,” Hoerner added.
But while they often offer the trips in historic trains, they also bring Thomas the Tank Engine to town, offering a family-focused trip.
