The apple-sized fruit of velvet apple trees (Diospyros blancoi) is similarly diverse regarding flavor, shape and color, though the skin — usually red or orange — always features a velvety texture.

Mabolo trees (Diospyo blancoi) bear delicious, sweet-smelling and tempting red fruits. Barangay Mabolo is obviously named after these fruit-bearing trees that grew abundantly in the area in the 1900s.
