A slab of stone, engraved with intricate lines and motifs dating to the Bronze Age, has been revealed to be Europe’s oldest map, researchers say.

"These maps were designed to help both the public and scientists understand the overall appearance and topography of the moon," USGS officials wrote in a statement.
