IB students are required to take at least three subjects at the higher level, known as HL, while the remaining classes may be taken at the standard level, or SL.

In a world of IB-only further education, there could be no gender split for STEM subjects, and no discernible lack of mathematical intelligence among graduates entering the workplace.

Although you have to study six subjects for the IB, you choose your best three to take at Higher level (240 hours of teaching over the two years) and your weaker three at Standard level (150).

The IB has also made numerous other noteworthy changes to its math curriculum. Several previously studied content areas have been omitted from the new IB math curriculum, such as currency conversion.
