During the weekend, an insider revealed Apple was working on a new MacBook model. However, it might impact MacBook Air sales directly.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to release a brand-new MacBook model that’s designed for the low-cost market. The laptop will not use an M-series chip, but an A18 Pro, the same chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro. Kuo believes it will have a 13-inch display and come in blue, pink, silver, and yellow.

In a first for Apple, the company is apparently planning to use an iPhone SoC to power a MacBook. The upcoming laptop will use A18 Pro, which powers the iPhone 16’s higher-end models, the Pro and Pro Max. Apple hasn’t confirmed the new, low-cost MacBook, so the usual grain of salt applies.
