The Air Force announced Monday that it is adopting the Army’s OCP as its official utility uniform. The uniform will roll out across the force over the next three years.
As for the Air Force, airmen will be able to start wearing the OCP uniform in lieu of the ABU on Oct. 1, when enlisted airmen will begin to receive an extra $20 for their clothing allowance.
The updates can be found in Air Force Instruction 36-2903, "Dress and Appearance of Air Force Personnel." The OCP was approved to be worn full time beginning Oct. 1, 2018.
