For the first time ever, Amazon has launched its own-brand TV with mini LED backlighting, which in and of itself is a big deal, but there's more.

As Amazon announced in a blog post today, its new Fire TV Omni Mini-LED series features a smooth, 144Hz refresh rate on a range of sizes, starting from 55 inches and going up to 85 inches for the big-screen TV crowd.
