Objectors plan legal challenge to modern flats in conservation area at Torquay The building with 17 apartments to replace a closed care home in St Marychurch was approved in July.

The three areas chosen last had Conservation Area Appraisals 15 years ago, so they will need to be updated. There will be a full consultation on proposals for all three schemes in Spring 2025.

Planning officers had recommended it be refused because the proposed location in the Torquay Harbour Conservation Area was "sensitive" and next to a listed war memorial and fountain.
