Add 5-15 drops of food coloring to the baking soda in each muffin tin cup. Note: On first attempt, we used “natural food coloring” and the final product’s colors were quite dull.

To make it look more volcano-like, wrap foil around the cup. If you have clay, you can sculpt it on top of the foil for a more realistic effect. You could even paint the rim with red for added flair!
