Deer Park, Texas, police confirmed that human remains were recovered from a vehicle that crashed into a natural gas liquids pipeline Monday, triggering a fire that continues to burn.

A fire that burned for four days after a pipeline explosion in the Houston suburbs burned out Thursday after the once-towering blaze put hundreds of nearby homes under evacuation orders. Investigators say the fire began after the driver of an SUV went through a fence alongside a Walmart parking lot and struck an above-ground valve.

Deer Park police removed the vehicle from the site of the fire, according to a news release from the city. Human remains were found inside the vehicle, officials said. The remains have not been identified,
