Newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump recently made his pick in the NBA GOAT debate between Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan and Lakers star LeBron James.

Both Jordan and James have engaged with politics throughout their careers, with 'Black Mamba' speaking out about the “ingrained racism” of the United States after his retirement, while James has often criticised Trump and the racial injustice in the US.

The GOAT conversation in the NBA for the most part recently has boiled down to an either-or between Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

Pippen recently took aim at LeBron in an interview, questioning whether teams would prefer him or LeBron at their peaks.
