MIAMI GARDENS — If Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is a razor-sharp 26 of 30 passing in each of his next two games, he’ll finish the season completing 74.7 percent of his passes and narrowly surpass Drew Brees’ all-time single season completion record of 74.4 percent, established in 2018.

In the back half of the year, Miami has won five of its last seven games, but it may be too little, too late. One of the AFC’s three wild card berths is already out of reach and the Broncos and Chargers are on the verge of securing the other two. Tagovailoa says players shouldn’t need playoff stakes to show up and play hard, though.

A hip injury landed Tua Tagovailoa on the Miami Dolphins injury report this week. It won’t keep him from starting in Week 16, though. Jaylen Waddle, on the other hand, is unlikely to go.
