The Oregon Ducks lead the historic first 2024 College Football Playoff rankings where 12 teams will vie for a chance at a national championship. Dan Lanning’s undefeated Ducks sit atop the rankings, while the Ohio State Buckeyes are right behind them at the second spot and the Georgia Bulldogs round out the top three.

That team is the Oregon Ducks (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten). Not only did they remain No. 1 in the AP Poll for the third consecutive week after a decisive win over Michigan, but the team was also the No. 1 seed in the season’s first College Football Playoff rankings release.

After several weeks of battles on the gridiron, Tuesday’s polling results are in – the College Football Playoff (CFP) committee chose the Oregon Ducks as the nation’s top team in the first edition of this season’s rankings.
