Some Dallas firefighters are returning home after two weeks on the California firelines. The team worked in some of the most rugged conditions in the hills and gullies of Pacific Palisades where 37 square miles were charred over.

After spending two weeks in California, Dallas Fire Rescue said its members with the wildland team and Emergency Medical Task Force are heading home to North Texas.

A Dallas real estate magnate is among the thousands of people whose homes were destroyed by raging wildfires in California. Mehrdad Moayedi, CEO of Centurion American Development Group, confirmed in an email to The Dallas Morning News that his Malibu home was destroyed last week.

The group is gathering Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Jesuit College Prep Dove Fieldhouse to take donations from 8 a.m. to noon.

The claim originated on a satirical website. There is no credible evidence Cuban moved any of his businesses from Texas to California.
