The Devils are going to be shorthanded on the blueline down the stretch, as Dougie Hamilton and Jonas Siegenthaler are set to miss an extended period of time.

Hamilton leads all Devils defensemen in goals (nine), assists (31), points (40), even-strength points (25) and power-play points (15). The Devils acquired defenseman Brian Dumoulin in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and forward prospect Herman Traff on Thursday.

The New Jersey Devils lost 4-3 on Tuesday night against the Dallas Stars. Without Jack Hughes and Dougie Hamilton, who was injured in the first period, the Devils mounted an inspired late-game comeback only to fall short in the dying seconds after a controversial icing call.
