Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons is heating up. The Blazers guard, who scored the game-winning points during Saturday’s 105-102 win at Milwaukee, is coming off his best four-game scoring stretch of the season.
Anfernee Simons has been a mainstay on the Blazers roster since 2018. Most people saw him as Portland’s star in the long term. Over the past few seasons, big changes have thrown a wrench into him being the face of the Blazers’ future.
In fact, the only person who played that day that scored more than Simons was Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak scored 31 and grabbed 11 rebounds. Aside from Dame and Giannis, the only other player to score in double-digits for the Bucks was A.J. Green, who contributed 21 off the bench.
The longest-tenured Blazer on their current roster, Simons entered the league in 2018 as Portland's No. 24 overall pick. He experienced team success with the Blazers as early as his rookie year, with Portland finishing with a 53-29 in 2018-19.
