Lombardo vetoed 87 bills that came out of the Democratic-majority Legislature, up from 75 in his first session. The 120-day session ended with the Republican governor’ rejecting legislation proposing IVF protections and restricting immigration enforcement in schools, among other policies.

Nevada Controller Andy Matthews announced Wednesday he will seek re-election in 2026. Matthews, a Republican, was first elected to the seat in 2022. He is a former Nevada assemblyman who represented District 37 and served as president of the Nevada Policy Research Institute.

The country’s largest venture capital this week announced it is moving its state of incorporation from Delaware to Nevada, and it encouraged other venture capitalists to follow suit.
