The neon signs that once illuminated Hong Kong have mostly gone dark, but Jive Lau is preserving the craft of neon making with his ambitious designs and sculptures.

The Neon Garden will showcase six signs outside The Post, each a glowing piece of Main Street history. There’s the towering, bloom-covered display from Watson’s Flowers, which came down in 2014.

Now, the hardware store's sign can be found inside as a part of the Vintage Print and Neon store's display. These are the kinds of Spokane staples that Bovey is trying to preserve.

The signs are filled either with neon or argon, depending on the intended color, while coatings on the tube effect a wider range of hues, from candy pink to fluorescent yellow and emerald green.
