Manatee County, Florida, commissione are considering labeling LGBTQ and young adult books with labels and making parents sign children consent forms.

The Manatee County Commission approved the first round of changes for public libraries this week. Labels and parental consent forms could be next.

Manatee officials did not take official action on adding genre labels to public library books. The topic is expected to come up for discussion at a future public meeting.
