If your hankering for a perfect pour of Guinness lingers long after St. Patrick’s Day, you’re in luck: Guinness expects to open its Chicago brewery this summer in the West Loop neighborhood.

“We exist to remind people that Guinness is a brewery, not just the single beer,” said Ryan Wagner, head of marketing at Open Gate Brewery. That single beer is still not made in Chicago.

Guinness Open Gate is no stranger to a themed beer. For the 148th Preakness, the brewery created Preakness Ale , a 5% alcohol red ale brewed with blood orange and hibiscus in 2023.
