Peterson was an officer with the District 9 probation office in Kearney. At trial, Sharp said Peterson subjected the women to unsolicited and nonconsensual sexual conduct between 2010 and early 2014.

The armed probation officer was trying to serve a felony warrant for probation violations when shots were fired at an apartment complex at 851 W Ajo Way, authorities said.
