The development of these fields is anticipated to contribute to the long-term supply to the Ichthys LNG natural gas liquefaction facility, wherein TotalEnergies holds a 26% partnership.

The Ichthys gas field's development will cost more than an initial $30 billion budget, said French oil major Total , which has a 24 percent stake in the huge Australian offshore project.

The Ichthys project is designed to produce 8.9 million tonnes per annum of LNG and 1.65 million tpa of liquefied petroleum gas, plus up to 100,000 barrels per day of condensate.
