Long press on the location to drop a pin. Google Maps will indicate the pinned location with a red pin icon. Tap on it, and you’ll see an information card with more details about the location.

Once you've dropped your pin, you can share it, get directions to that location, or save it to a list of favorite places. The Maps app is installed on all iPhones by default, along with all iPads.

Drop a pin on your desktop. 1. Open Google Maps on your computer. 2. Zoom and pan around the map until you find the location you want to drop the pin. 3. Click the spot where you want to drop the pin.

Browse to the location you saved the transparent .ICO file and select that as the new icon. Repeat this until you've replaced all the shortcuts' icons with the transparent icon.
