The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced Utica will receive $2.3 million to enhance safety along North Genesee Street.

In 2017, 80% of the pavement in NYSDOT Region 5, which makes up Western New York, were rated good/excellent. In 2018, that number dropped to 58%.
