New York State Police said Tuesday a retired technical sergeant has passed away due to an illness connected to his response to the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center.

New York State Police Technical Sgt Christopher P. Rock passed away Dec. 3 of an illness stemming from the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, according to the statement.
