Air Force OCP Uniform Rollout Just Days Away. The Air Force is adopting the Army's Operational Camouflage Pattern for its new combat uniform and began incrementally phasing it in Oct. 1.

The Air Force announces new rules on OCP uniforms for Airmen. The changes include authorization of the two-piece Flight Duty Uniform in garrison and updated patch guidance.

The Air Force could start switching to the Army’s Operational Camouflage Pattern uniform as early as this fall, according to slides that have leaked online.

As for the Air Force, airmen will be able to start wearing the OCP uniform in lieu of the ABU on Oct. 1, when enlisted airmen will begin to receive an extra $20 for their clothing allowance.

For the initial OCP uniform rollout, Air Force major commands, centers and wings will see patches first, "with groups and squadrons a possibility in the future," according to the Air Force release.
