Here's what Tri-C had to say about the Stomp name in the poll: "Stomp conjures the impression of a large, prehistoric animal’s footfalls in a primeval forest, and it commands notice.

It’s the mascot for Tri-C! Students, staff and alumni chose Stomp the Triceratops to be the school’s new mascot. The selection was done in an online poll in the spring.

Tri-C teams previously were known as the Challengers, but didn’t have a mascot. Now, as the triceratops, the college is selling water bottles, hats and sweatshirts featuring the aqua-colored dino.
